Broadway Blvd + 
Sunshine Mile Project 

Current plans call for expanding Broadway Boulevard to 6 lanes between Euclid Avenue and Country Club Road.  Work is expected to begin in the fall of 2019. Construction information can be found on the City's official page HERE.

In addition, Rio Nuevo is working with stakeholders, including Project for Public Spaces, on shaping the vision for the future of the Sunshine Mile located on Broadway Blvd between Euclid and Country Club. Improvements will strengthen the area, bring the community together and bring new life to the gateway into downtown Tucson. Public forums and focus groups have been held to ensure that the community is involved in the process and can help shape that vision.

Within Rincon Heights, Rio Nuevo and PPS have identified the Bungalow Block, located between Cherry & Warren, as an opportunity for potential redevelopment. These contributing historic homes will be moved out of the construction footprint and repurposed for local-scale retail use.
